BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST (BCBA)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Behavioral Specialists (BCBA) will include working collaboratively with the school psychologist assigned to the Alternate Learning Program.
• Provide training for teachers, related service providers, and support staff in data collection and the implementation of behavior management strategies.
• Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and creating Behavior Intervention Plans, as well as possessing formal training and practical knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and intervention strategies.
• Conducting/facilitating team meetings and participation at Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings to report on data collection and progress toward goals is also required.
• Behavioral Specialists (BCBA) will have other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education and Mental Health Services.                            

 

 

Valid NYS Certification as a School Psychologist, Social Worker or Special Education Teacher Required.

BCBA Certification Required.

*TESOL preferred; Bilingual Extension Preferred.

Crisis Pervention Institute (CPI) Trained Preferred.
