2026-2027 MBK/MSK PROGRAM MENTORS
(25) District-Wide Teaching Staff, Mental Health and CSEA Faculty Members
The Longwood My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) and My Sister’s Keeper (MSK) Programs are seeking dedicated
staff members to serve as mentors for participating students. Mentors are expected to maintain
consistent engagement with students, actively participate in all required meetings and events, and
demonstrate a commitment to the mission and goals of the Longwood MBK/MSK programs.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Serve as an active mentor to assigned MBK/MSK students throughout the school year, providing
consistent support, encouragement, and guidance.
• Provide informal mentoring and student support throughout the school day as opportunities arise.
Mentors are expected to establish and maintain meaningful relationships through ongoing check-ins
and goal-setting on an as needed basis.
• Conduct mandatory weekly meetings after school with assigned students.
• Collaborate with MBK/MSK Program Managers and Assistant Managers to support program initiatives
and serve as a liaison between students, families, teachers, mental health staff, and
administrators.
• Attend and actively participate in mandatory monthly after-school/evening MBK/MSK mentor meetings
with Program Managers.
• Attend and support all assigned MBK/MSK Family and Community Engagement Events (evening).
Building representation at these events is mandatory.
- MBK/MSK Evening Kick-Off event - October 2026
- Black History Month Celebration - February 2027
- MBK/MSK Evening End of Year Gala - May 2027
• Provide assistance before, during, and after Family and Community Engagement Events, including
but not limited to:
• Event planning and preparation
• Student outreach and participation
• Family engagement activities
• Event setup and breakdown
• Event facilitation and supervision
• Follow-up activities and communication
• Support MBK/MSK programming designed to strengthen school, family, and community partnerships and
promote positive outcomes for participating students.
Total Hours: Club Rate (MITA $43 or CSEA hourly rate): Not to exceed 35 hours per mentor, Middle
School not to exceed 40 hours per mentor
Planning/Staff Development Rate (MITA $50 or CSEA hourly rate): Not to exceed 10 hours per mentor
(monthly meetings with program managers/assistant managers)
Salary: MITA/CSEA contractual rate
